LSV FAQ

Can I drive an LSV on the highway?
No. LSVs are limited to roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less (US) / 40-50 km/h (Canada). No highways, freeways, or interstates.
Do I need a special license?
Most states/provinces accept a standard driver's license. No motorcycle or commercial license needed for LSVs.
Is insurance required?
Yes in most states/provinces. Specialty LSV policies available. Typically $300-600/year depending on coverage.
What's the registration process?
We provide MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin), VIN, and compliance docs. You register at your local DMV/ServiceOntario like a car.
Can I make a regular golf cart street legal?
Sometimes. Requires DOT lighting kit, mirrors, seat belts, windshield, VIN assignment, and inspection. Cost often exceeds buying an LSV.
